DuPont Crop Protection received federal approval for FeXapan herbicide plus VaporGrip technology for use in Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans and cotton. DuPont licensed this dicamba herbicide from Monsanto last summer.

This group 4 herbicide can be used for the 2017 season in select states. Check your state’s status here. The product is said to provide control in herbicide resistant weeds such as kochia, marestail and amaranth species. DuPont reminds farmers this product is to be used in a complete weed control system including pre-emergent, post emergent and multiple mode of action herbicide mixes. Following these best management practices will help ward off resistance issues longer.

Be sure to read and follow label directions as you would with other dicamba-based herbicides. While VaporGrip technology does reduce drift, you still need to be mindful of drift risks near sensitive areas.
