Signing Up

Create an Account

  1. Does it cost money to create an account on the Doane Advisory Services website? 

Answer: It is free to join and use. However, there are features within the community that are only available if you upgrade your account. To see a full list of those features visit the Manage Your Account section on this page.

 

  1. Can I create a joint account or share an account with someone else?

Answer: We don’t allow joint accounts, and you can only sign up for one account per email address. We require everyone to use their real names and accurate information about themselves. 

 

  1. What names are allowed when creating an account?

Answer: When creating an account, people use their real names and provide accurate information. Please refrain from adding any of the following to your name:

    • Symbols, numbers, random capitalizations, repeating characters or punctuation.
    • Characters from multiple languages.
    • Titles of any kind (ex. Professional, religious).
    • Words, phrases, or nicknames in place of a middle name.
    • Offensive or suggested words of any kind.

 

  1. Why am I getting an email invitation to connect with a friend on the Doane website?

Answer: You received this email because a Doane member is inviting you to become a member and create an account on the website. Doane lets members invite people from their contacts by entering in an email address. If you don’t have an account already set up and you’d like to make one, just click on the link provided in the invite email and follow the necessary steps to create one.

 

  1. How do I sign up and create an account?

Answer: To sign up visit www.doane.com . Once here click the Create My Profile button and follow the steps needed to sign up and create a profile.

 

  1. What is the difference between logging in and signing up?

Answer: The difference is if you’re logging in, then you already have an account with login information. If you are signing up, then you still have to create an account with all the necessary information.  

 

  1. What’s the minimum password length and how can I make my password strong?

Answer: The minimum password length required is 8 characters, including one special character and one capital letter. Try to use a variation of numbers, letters and punctuation marks. Make sure the password you created is easy to remember but difficult enough that someone wouldn’t be able to figure it out.

 

Confirm Your Email Address

  1. How do I complete the signup process and confirm my email address?

Answer: Once you’ve filled in all the necessary information in the sign up section, click the submit button. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address used to register the account. Once you receive the email, click on the link provided to confirm and finish the signup process.

 

  1. Why did I receive a confirmation email from Doane Advisory Services?

Answer: When you sign up and create an account, a confirmation email gets sent out. This lets us confirm that the email address connected to your account belongs to you. To confirm, just click on the link provided in the confirmation email.

 

  1. I accidentally signed up using the wrong email address. How can I fix this?

Answer: To change your email address:

    • Log into your Doane Account.
    • Access the drop down menu at the top right corner of the page clicking on the Settings button.
    • Once there, look in the general settings section, and type in the correct email address you wish to use.
    • Once changed, click the Save Changes button, and your email address will be updated.

Login & Password

Logging In

  1. How do I log into my account?

Answer: To log into your account visit: www.doane.com and click on the sign in button. Once there follow the necessary steps in order log in.

 

  1. What is the difference between logging in and signing up?

  1. How do I log out of my account?

Answer: Click on the arrow located at the top of the page in the toolbar section. Once there click on the Sign out button to be logged out.

 

  1. I don’t know if I still have a Doane account. How can I find it?

Answer: First, try the “Forgot My Password” feature on the sign in page. Try any emails that you would normally use.  If you don’t receive an email asking you to change your password, then email us at: communitysupport@doane.com  and we can see if your account is still there.

 

Managing Your Password

  1. How do I change my password?

Answer: To change your password visit the My Settings page, and click on the Change Password tab. To find the My Settings section, click on the arrow located at the top of the page in the toolbar section. A drop down menu should appear with Settings being an option. Once in the Settings section, just click on the Change Password tab and follow instructions.

 

  1. What happens if I forgot my password?

Answer: To reset your password because you forgot it, visit the sign in page. Once there click the Forgot Password button located under the Password section. If you follow the necessary steps you should receive an email that provides you with a link that you can use to reset your password.

Your Profile

  1. What is my profile?

Answer: Your profile, is your collection of the photos, stories and experiences.

 

  1. How do I add or change my profile picture?

Answer: To add or change your profile picture visit the Edit Profile section by clicking on the arrow located at the top of the page in the toolbar section. A drop down menu should appear with Edit Profile being an option. Once there, click the Edit my photo tab to change your profile picture.

 

  1. How do I see old profile photos?

Answer: To view old profile pictures then visit your profile page, and click the Photos tab. The profile pictures album that appears under the My Albums section holds all the profile pictures that you’ve ever uploaded. 

 

 

  1. How do I delete old profile photos?

Answer: To delete an old profile picture, visit the profile pictures album. Once there under the Manage Album widget is a manage photos button. Click it and then check delete photo box of the photo you wish to delete.

 

  1. How do I add things to sections of my About tab on my Profile page?

Answer: By clicking the Edit button that appears in each section you can add/edit the material that is shown there.

 

  1. How do I edit basic info on my profile and choose who can see it?

Answer: To add or change your profile information visit the Edit Profile section by clicking on the arrow located at the top of the page in the toolbar section. A drop down menu should appear with Edit Profile being an option. Once there, you can update the information that needs updating. To change your privacy settings click the Profile settings tab, which will take you to the settings page. Click on the Privacy tab to update your privacy settings.

Connecting with Doane Members

  1. How do I connect with other members on the Doane website?

Answer: You can connect with other members in the community by visiting their profile page. An Add Connection button will be below the member’s name. Click the plus sign to send them a connection request.

 

  1. How do I make sure that my profile is visible?

Answer: Visit the Settings section, by accessing the drop down menu at the top right corner of the page and clicking on the Settings button. Once there under the Privacy tab there’s a checked box that says Do not display me in searches, browsing members, or the “Online Members list.” Make sure this box is left unchecked, allowing your friends to search for you in order for them to add you as a connection.

 

  1. How do I remove connections I’ve made?

Answer: There are a couple of ways to remove a connection. The first is to go to the member’s profile page. At the top of the page under the member’s name is a Remove Connection button. Click on the X to remove them as a connection. 

 

How to Post & Share

  1. How do I post a status update on my profile?

Answer: There are two ways that you can post a status update. The first way is on the Home page. At the top of the home page is a box that says Share an update with the community… Type the update you want to share, or upload a picture, video, or link and then hit the post button. The second way to post a status update is by going to your profile page, and clicking on the Activity tab. You’ll see another Share an update with the community box. Type the update you want to share and then hit the post button.

 

  1. How do I add a post to my profile activity section?

Answer: You can post a new status update from your profile page in the activity section. To add a post, pick the type of update you want to share, whether it be text, a video, a link, or a photo. Once you’ve decided and are ready to post, click the post button.

 

  1. How do I upload a photo?

Answer: To upload a photo, click on the photo icon located in the share an update box. From there click on the Add Photo button and upload the picture you want to post. Then click the Post button and share the picture with the community.

 

  1. How do I share a link?

Answer: To share a link, click on the link icon located in the share an update box. From there copy and paste the link into the link box, and click the Attach button. To post the link click the Post button and share it. 

 

  1. How do I post and share with a group?

Answer: To share an update or post with the group, click on the Updates tab, and in the share an update box decide what you want to share and then click on the Post button.

Account Settings

  1. How do I permanently delete my account?

Answer: For free users: Visit the Settings section, by accessing the arrow drop down menu at the top right corner of the page and clicking on the Settings button. Once there click on the Delete Account tab. Click on the Yes, Delete My Account button to delete your account permanently. Remember once your account is deleted, the contents of your account can’t be recovered. For general inquiries or questions about our commercial subscriptions call 888.375.6004 or email us at communitysupport@doane.com. 

 

  1. Where can I find my settings?

Answer: Visit the Settings section, by accessing the arrow drop down menu at the top right corner of the page and clicking on the Settings button. This takes you to the My Settings section, where you can control the various aspects of your profile.

 

  1. How do I change my name?

Answer: To change your name click on the arrow drop down menu at the top right corner of the page and click on the Edit Profile button. Once there, you should be on the Personal Info tab and able to change your name. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page to save the settings.

Upgrading Your Account

  1. Is there a way for me to try an account that has all the features?

Answer: There is a way to try out all the features. We offer a 30-day free trial for those who want to see what the added features are all about before fully upgrading their account.

 

  1. How do I upgrade my account?

Answer: To upgrade your account from a basic user to a paid one visit the Settings section. To access the Settings section, click on the arrow located at the top of the page in the toolbar section. A drop down menu should appear with Settings being one of the options. Once in the settings section, just click on Subscription tab and choose the subscription option that best fits your needs.

 

  1. What are the different subscription levels?

Answer: The different subscription levels are: Basic/Free user, 30-Day Free Trial of paid user features and Paid Annual user $149/year.

 

  1. Is there a way to change my paid account to a basic/free user account?

Answer: To change your account from a paid user to a free account, visit the settings section. To access the Settings section, click on the arrow located at the top of the page in the toolbar section. A drop down menu should appear with Settings being one of the options. Once in the settings section, just click on the Subscription tab and choose the option that says Free. Then click the Change Plan button. Remember by changing to the free account you will no longer have access to the economists; analysis and reports. You will also need to notify us by calling 888.375.6004 or emailing us at communitysupport@doane.com.

Resetting Your Password

  1. How do I reset my password?

Answer: If you know your current password then log in, and click on the arrow drop down menu at the top right corner of the page and click on the Settings button. Once there, click on the Change Password tab, and follow the necessary steps to change your password. If you don’t remember your password but need to change it, then visit the sign in page. Once there, click on the Forgot Password button and type in your email address. You will receive an email giving you instructions on how to change your password.

 

  1. I’m seeing a password incorrect error message even though I know the password is correct.

Answer: Please make sure that your caps lock key is turned off. If you're still unable to log into your account, then reset your password.

 

  1. I’m not receiving the email to reset my password.

Answer: If you requested a new password but didn’t receive your password-reset email then:

  • Check the spam or junk mail folder in your email account.
  • Try to reset your password again.
  • If you still don’t receive it, then contact the help desk.

Deleting Accounts

  1. How do I permanently delete my account?

Answer: For free users: Visit the Settings section, by accessing the arrow drop down menu at the top right corner of the page and clicking on the Settings button. Once there click on the Delete Account tab. Click on the Yes, Delete My Account button to delete your account permanently. Disabled Accounts

  1. Why was my Doane account disabled?

Answer: If your account is disabled, you won’t be able to log in and no one else will be able to see it. Please keep in mind that there are many reasons why an account may be disabled, and we handle each of these cases differently. Contact us at 888.375.6004 or email us at communitysupport@doane.com to receive additional support.

Adding & Managing Requests

  1. How do I add someone as a connection?

Answer: There are a few ways that you can add a friend as a connection. The first is to visit their profile page, and click the Add Connection button that appears at the top. 

 

  1. Who should I try to connect with?

Answer: You should try and connect with people you know, as well as people who share the same interests as yourself. If you have a paid subscription then connect with the economists to receive their analysis and advice.

 

  1. Who can add me as a connection?

Answer: Anyone can request to be your connection. You have the option of either accepting the request and becoming connections or denying it.

 

  1. How do I remove or cancel a request I sent to someone?

Answer: To cancel a request visit the person’s profile page and click the Remove Connection button that appears under their name.

 

  1. I tried connecting with someone, but they didn't receive the request.

Answer: Try canceling the request, and re-sending it. If it still doesn’t work then notify us by visiting the Help page and we will look into it.

 

  1. I got an email saying I have a pending request, but I don't see one.

Answer: Try visiting your notifications section. Click the circle next to the ? at the top of the page and go to view all updates. Here is where it should say if you have a request. If it’s not there, then visit the help page and we will look into it.

 

  1. If I delete a Connection request, will the person who sent it be notified?

Answer: No they will not be notified.

 

  1. How do I delete a request I've received?

Answer: Once you’re in the notifications section, there will be an area that says requests and it will show you all the requests you have. Click on the ignore request button to deny their connection request.

 

Removing Connections

  1. How do I delete a request I've received?

Answer: Once you’re in the notifications section, there will be an area that says requests and it will show you all the requests you have. Click on the ignore request button to deny their connection request.

 

  1. How do I remove a connection?

Answer: One of the ways you can remove a connection is by visiting the person’s profile page and clicking the Remove Connection button that appears under their name. Another way is by visiting the Members tab and searching for the person’s name. Once you found the person you want to remove as a connection, then click the Remove button located beneath their name to remove them.

 

  1. Who can add me as a connection?

Answer: Anyone can add you as a connection, but you have to approve or deny the request for it to be finalized.

 

  1. If I unfriend someone, will they be notified?

Answer: No they will not be notified.

 

Liking Something

  1. What does it mean to "Like" something?

Answer: Clicking the Like button lets other users know that you enjoyed their post.

 

  1. How do I unlike something?

Answer: To unlike something go to the post or picture you wish to unlike. Click the unlike button that appears beneath the post or picture to unlike it.

Photos

  1. How do I like or unlike a photo?

Answer: The like/unlike feature is located beneath the picture. Once you’ve clicked the like button for a picture, the button changes to say unlike. To unlike a photo click the unlike button to unlike the photo.

 

  1. How do I delete a comment I posted?

Answer: To delete a comment that you posted, go to the post in which you left a comment.  Once there, there should be a delete button below your comment that you can click on to delete your comment.

 

 

Uploading Photos & Profile Pictures

  1. How do I upload photos?

Answer: To upload photos visit your profile page, and click on the photos tab. Once there, under the My Photos section is a New Photo button that you can click to add new photos.

 

  1. How do I add more photos to an existing album?

Answer: To add more photos to an existing album visit your profile page, and click on the photos tab. Once there, click the My Albums header to view all albums. Now you have two ways to add photos to an album. You can click the Add New Photos text that appears above the photo albums or you can also choose a specific album and click the manage photos button. From there you can add more photos by clicking the Add More Photos button that appears in the Manage Album widget.

 

  1. How many photos can I upload?

Answer: You can upload as many pictures as you’d like.

 

  1. How do I post a photo on my connection’s profile page?

Answer: Visit the profile page of the person you want to share a photo with. Visit their activity feed, and click the photo icon to add a picture. Find the picture you’d like to upload and once you find it click the post button to post it to their newsfeed.

 

 

How to manage Profile Pictures

  1. How do I add or change my profile picture?

Answer: To change your profile picture click on the arrow located at the top of the page in the toolbar section. A drop down menu should appear with Edit Profile being one of the options. Once in the Edit profile section, click on the Edit My Photo tab and choose a file to upload. Once you’ve chosen a new picture click the save photo button, and your photo will be updated.

 

  1. How do I change the way my profile thumbnail is cropped?

Answer: To change your profile picture click on the arrow located at the top of the page in the toolbar section. A drop down menu should appear with Edit Profile being one of the options. Once in the Edit profile section, click on the Edit Thumbnail to how the image is cropped. When you’re ready to save the photo, just click save photo and your changes will take effect.

 

  1. Is there a size limit for the picture I use as my profile picture?

Answer: The minimum picture size should be W 200px X H 200px.

 

  1. How many pictures can an album hold?

Answer: An album can hold as many photos as you’d like to put there.

 

Editing Photos & Organizing Albums

  1. How do I delete a photo?

Answer: The following list are a few ways in which you can delete a photo:

  • If the photo was just uploaded and appears in your home page or your profile page, then there should be a delete button that appears beneath the photo that you can click to delete the picture.
  • The second way is to visit your profile page in the photos section. You can click on the My Albums header to view all your albums. From there pick the Manage Photos button across from the album containing the picture you want to delete. Once there find the photo you want to delete and check the box that says delete photo. Click the Save Changes button that appears at the bottom to save your new changes.

 

  1. How do I delete an Album?

Answer: You can delete an Album by visiting your profile page in the photos section. You can click on the My Albums header to view all your albums. Once you select which Album you want to delete a Delete Album button is across from the album. Click it and a pop-up will appear asking you to delete the album. Click Delete Album to have the album permanently deleted.

 

  1. Once I delete a photo, can I get it back?

Answer: Once you’ve deleted a photo or album there is no way to get it back.

 

  1. How can I move photos around within the photo album?

Answer: Visit your profile page in the photos section. You can click on the My Albums header to view all your albums. Once there pick an album to view. Use the mouse to hover over a photo, and the mouse arrow will look like a cross with arrows. Click on the picture you want to move, and arrange the photos how you want them to look in the album.

 

  1. How do I move photos between albums?

Answer: Visit your profile page in the photos section. You can click on the My Albums header to view all your albums. Once there pick the album that you want to move photos from, and hit the manage photos button that is directly across from that album title. Once there choose which photos you want to move, and from the drop down menu choose what album you want to move them to. When your finished hit the Save Changes button, and your photos will be moved.

Videos

  1. How do I upload videos?  

Answer: On the home page in the share an update box is a video icon. Click on the icon and choose your video source, and copy/paste in the link. Once you’ve attached the link you’re ready to post it.

 

  1. How do I comment on a video or photo?

Answer: To comment on a video click the comment button located beneath the video.

Links

  1. How do I share a link?

Answer: To post a link on your profile activity tab, click the link icon in the share an update box, located at the top of your newsfeed section. Once you’ve copy/pasted the link, attach it and click the post button to share it.

 

  1. How do I share a post I see in my newsfeed?

Answer: Click the share button located beneath the post you want to share. Add in the message you want and then click the Post button to share with the community.

 

  1. How can I post a link to a group?

Answer: If the group allows people to comment within the group then click the link icon in the share an update box. Copy/paste the link in and click attach. If you’re ready to post then click the Post button.

 

  1. How do I delete a link that I posted?

Answer: To delete a link you’ve posted go to the post that you wish to delete and beneath the post is a delete button. Click delete if you wish to erase it forever.

Answer: You can access the DAR report on the home page in the Doane Reports section located beneath the Market Updates and Analysis & Advice sections. Just click the View Most Recent button to view the latest report. You can also access the DAR and the archives by clicking the Reports tab at the top of the page and going to page 3. 

 

  1. How do I change my password?

Randy Scollan

Randy is the account services manager for Doane Advisory Services. He was formerly an oilseed trader for Archer Daniels Midland where he focused primarily on soybeans and soybean meal. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with an MS in Agricultural Economics and an MBA in Finance.

Bill Nelson

Mr. Nelson is the soybean and products analyst for Doane. He has over 30 years of experience in the commodities forecasting and advisory business. He was previously with Doane from 1984 to 2000, serving as the AgServ Product Manager, the Crop-Trak Product Manager, and as the wheat market analyst. Between 2000 and 2008, he was the grain market analyst for A.G. Edwards and Sons, Inc, where he analyzed corn, soybeans, wheat, and rice markets, plus advised on weather and climate issues. Mr. Nelson is frequently quoted in the media, including Dow Jones Newswires, the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Bloomberg News, Reuters, The New York Times, and Agence France Presse. He holds a BS in Meteorology from Iowa State Universityand an MS in Agronomy from Purdue University.

Martyn Foreman

Martyn Foreman is Doane Advisory Services’ feedgrains and cattle/beef economist. He has been with the company since 1996. Marty has more than 30 years experience in commodity research and analysis. At Doane he works with a broad range of clients, including farmers, agribusiness and food manufacturers providing outlook and risk management strategies as well input for long-range planning purposes. Marty was raised on a grain and livestock farm in central Illinois. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agricultural Economics from Southern Illinois University as well as an M.B.A. from Illinois State University.

Dan Vaught

Dan Vaught earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Agricultural Economics from the University of Arkansas and did a year of post-graduate work at the University of Illinois as a recipient of the Jonathan Baldwin Turner fellowship. He went to work for A.G. Edwards & Sons as a livestock market analyst in 1990. He also took over coverage of the metal and soft futures complexes at various times during his 19-year tenure with the company. After the firm was taken over by Wachovia he left the company in 2008. He formed his own livestock consulting firm in 2010, then closed up shop in late 2012 when Doane made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. He currently serves as Doane’s swine and dairy market analyst as well as the editor of the Doane Agricultural Report.

A Chinese native, with an MA in Macroeconomics from University of Missouri, Columbia and MS in Agricultural Economics from University of Arkansas. She has several years of research experience in food marketing, food environment and childhood obesity issues. GaoGao is the vegetable oil analyst and China agricultural market information specialist for Doane.

Basics

  1. When I post something, how do I choose who can see it?

Answer: There are two ways you can use to change your privacy settings. The first is by accessing the drop down menu at the top right corner of the page clicking on the Settings button. Once there click on the Privacy tab and change your settings accordingly. The second option involves when you post new updates to your newsfeed. Before you post your new update, whether it’s a status, a picture, or a video you can use the drop down menu to change who can view that individual post.

 

  1. How do I control who can see what’s on my profile and activity feed?

  1. Who can see my profile picture?

Answer: Anyone can see your profile picture, it helps people identify your posts and comments. You will also be able to find the photo in your photos section on your profile page.

 

  1. When someone re-shares something I posted, who can see it?

Answer: If the person sharing the post decides to share it with everyone, then anyone can see it. It depends on if they choose to only share it with their connections, or their connections and networks for example.

 

  1. Who can like or comment on things I post?

Answer: When you share something you can choose who can see your post, for example it could be only your connections or connections and networks. If you don’t have any privacy settings in place then anyone can like or comment a post.

Photos

  1. How do I edit the privacy settings for my photo albums?

Answer: Click on the photo My Albums in the profile section. Once you know which album you want to change the settings for click the Edit settings button. From there you can choose who can or can’t see your photo album.

Videos

  1. There’s a video of me that I want taken down.

Answer: If there is a video of you that needs to be taken down, visit the help section and put in a request, stating the name of the person who has posted this video. We will review your request and go from there.

Groups

  1. What are the privacy options for groups?

Answer: The Privacy options include things about search results, who can invite members, do those members need to be approved, and who can see/comment on the group wall.

 

  1. How do I change the privacy for a group I admin?

Answer: To change the privacy settings for a group you admin, visit My Groups, and then click the Edit Group Button. Once there you can change your privacy settings.

 

  1. How do I leave a group?

Answer: To leave a group, click the Leave this Group button that appears beneath the Group’s name at the top of the page.

 

  1. Can I prevent people from adding me to a new group?

Answer: No one can just add you to a new group. You will be notified that (user name) has invited you to a new group. From there you can accept or reject the invite.

 

  1. My friend left my group. How can I send a second invitation?

Answer: To send a new invitation visit the group page, and click the Invite others to join button that appears in the Group Connections widget.

What Happens with Reports

  1. What happens when I report something? Does the person I report get notified?

Answer: Your report is anonymous. When something gets reported, we'll review it and remove anything that doesn't follow our guidelines. We don't include any information about the person who filed the report when we reach out to the person responsible. Please keep in mind that reporting something doesn't guarantee that it will be removed.

 

  1. I've reported something by mistake. Can I cancel my report?

Answer: Release 1: Contact us through the help page and let us know that you made a mistake, and tell us specifically what you reported.  

Photo Abuse

  1. How do I report an abusive photo?

Answer: To report an abusive photo go to the photo in question, and in the Manage Album widget is a report button. Pick what you want to report and leave a message before submitting your report.

 

  1. I’ve been blocked from adding photos?

Answer: If you are blocked from uploading photos it is because more than one of your photos was deemed inappropriate content (ex. Nudity, hate speech, excessive violence, self-harm, illegal drug use, directly attacks an individual or group).

Video Abuse

  1. How do I report inappropriate or abusive things (ex. Nudity, hate speech, threats)?

Answer: To report inappropriate things visit the help section and put in a request. State the name of the person that is posting inappropriate videos.

 

  1.  I found a video on Doane for which I own the copyright. What should I do next?

Answer: Visit the help section to notify us of the video that is copyrighted and the name of the individual who posted it, and we will take the necessary steps from there.

  1. What does the Doane consider to be hate speech?

Answer: Content that attacks people based on their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or disease is not allowed. We do, however, allow clear attempts at humor or satire that might otherwise be considered a possible threat or attack. This includes content that many people may find to be in bad taste (ex: jokes, stand-up comedy, popular song lyrics, etc.).

Troubleshooting Basics

  1. I’m seeing an error message that says my email address is invalid when I try to sign up.

Answer: Make sure you typed your email address correctly. If you are seeing an error message, something may have been misspelled. If you entered your email address correctly, and you’re still seeing this error message, let us know.

 

  1.  I’m seeing an error message that says there’s an existing account associated with my email address.

Answer: Only one account can be connected to a single email address. If you are seeing an error message that says there’s already an existing account associated with your email address, try one of the steps below:

  • If you already started an account using your email address, but lost your password, you can request a new password.
  • If you share this email address with someone else who already has an account, you will need to use a different email address to create your account.
  • If you think you received this message by mistake, let us know.

 

  1. I received an email that I created a new account, but I didn’t sign up for a new account.

Answer: Most likely, someone tried to sign up for an account using your email address by mistake. The sign-up process isn’t complete until someone clicks the link in this email, so it’s easiest to just ignore the email.  You can also click the link at the bottom of the email to let us know this wasn’t you.

 

I can’t find my Doane signup confirmation email.

Answer: If you signed up for an account, we sent an email to the address you provided. This email includes a link that you’ll need to click to confirm your account and let us know that you’re really you. If you can’t find this email, try checking your junk mail folder.

 

I’m seeing an error message that says my email address is unregistered.

Answer: If you’re seeing an error message saying your email address is unregistered:

  • Make sure you are using the email address you signed up with to log in.
  • Be sure that you confirmed your email address using the confirmation email from Doane.
  • Check your junk or spam email folder for the original confirmation email from Doane.

 

  1. I can’t upload photos.

Answer: Try refreshing the page, and if you still don't see the Add photos buton then it's probably a bug. Visit the Help page to report the issue, and we'll do our best to fix it.

 

  1. I don’t see an “Add photos” button in my album

Answer: Try refreshing the page, and if you still don't see the Add photos buton then it's probably a bug. Visit the Help page to report the issue, and we'll do our best to fix it.

 

 

  1. Something’s not working with my privacy settings for photos & albums.

Answer: For albums you can create you can adjust the privacy settings for the entire album by viewing the album and clicking the edit settings button located in the manage album widget.  From there check your privacy settings and change accordingly. If this still doesn’t fix the problem then visit our help page to notify us of the issue.

 

  1. Photos are loading as black boxes, broken images, or empty boxes.

Answer: If you can’t see the photos you’ve uploaded and the photos are appearing as black images or boxes then visit our help page to report a problem.

 

  1. My photo albums have disappeared.

Answer: Sometimes maintenance is done on the site, and some photos or albums may be temporarily missing. If your photos are still missing after a few hours then contact the help desk, and report the issue.

 

  1. I don’t see an “Add photos” button in my album

Answer: The Add Photos button should appear in the Manage Album widget. If you still don’t see it then visit the help page and report the issue.

 

Group Related Issues

  1. Why does my group display a total number of members that’s different from the real number of members?

Answer: It could be a bug with our system. Visit the help page, to contact us and report the bug.

 

  1. My group is currently unavailable.

Answer: The group moderator may have deleted the group. Try refreshing first to see if it appears in your groups section on your profile page, if it’s still not there then visit the help page and send us a message regarding the issue.

 

  1. I can't delete a group I created.

Answer: Try refreshing the My Groups page, and press the delete group button. If it still doesn’t work then visit the help page and let us know about the issue.

 

  1. My group can't be found in search.

Answer: First visit the edit group section, and check to make sure that your settings are set to include your group in the search results. If it already is, then double check the spelling of the group name that you’re typing in the search box. If your group still isn’t showing then visit the help page and let us know about the issue.

 

  1. I've lost access to a group that I admin.

Answer: If you’ve lost access to a group that you were admin of, but you are not the main admin for the group. Then that is because the main group admin removed your admin access.

 

  1. I can't add someone to a group.

Answer: The group's privacy settings may prevent members who aren't admins from adding new people. If you should be able to add new members and can't, please visit the help page and let us know about the issue.

 

  1. I can't post in a group.

Answer: There are a few reasons as to why you can’t post in the group. The first is because you may not be a member yet, and only members are allowed to post in that particular group. The second is that the group may be set up that only admins can post to the group.

 

  1. My group or event is currently displaying as unavailable.

Answer: If you're seeing a message that your group or event is unavailable right now, this is a temporary result of site maintenance, and is not related to the content of your group or event. Please try accessing it in a few hours, when it should be available again with all content restored. If it's been more than 24 hours and you're still unable to access your group or event, then please visit the help page and let us know about the issue.

Search Issues

  1. When I search for someone, I can't find them.

Answer: There are a few possible reasons for that. One is that they may not be a member on the Doane website, and still need to make an account. The second is that they may have set up privacy settings which cause their profile not to show up in search results. The third is that they may have blocked you, in which case you won’t be able to access or see their profile at all.

 

  1. When someone searches for my name, they can't find me.

Answer: Go to your Privacy settings and make sure you your settings allow people to search for you. If your settings are already like this and you’re still experiencing the problem then visit the Help page and tell us about the issue.
