Oklahoma Panhandle, Kansas cropland to sell at auction

June 27, 2012 6:00 AM

The Oklahoma land -- located in the Panhandle in Texas County -- will include 8,133 acres in 20 tracts. An additional 480 acres in three tracts will sell Thursday, Aug. 2 in Greeley County, Kan.

The sale includes thousands of acres of cropland, including tracts that have been in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) and are now ready to be placed back into crop production. Various tracts also have water wells, native grassland and three houses.

The Oklahoma land includes 4,160 acres of contiguous land selling in 10 tracts. “All of this is valuable cropland, more than half of which has been in the CRP program. An additional 320 acres, while not contiguous, is located in the same area and includes excellent machinery/grain storage facilities,” said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.

The Kansas land will sell in three 160-acre tracts.“We also have several tracts that remain in the CRP program and will receive a steady income stream for years to come,” he said. "Agriculture is the story of the year in American financial markets, and this is one of the best opportunities I’ve seen for operators or investors seeking dry land and CRP land,” he added.

The Oklahoma auction will begin at 10 a.m. CT Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Texas County Activity Center, 4th and Sunset, Guymon, Okla. The Kansas auction will begin at 10 a.m. MT Thursday, Aug. 2, at the Parish Center, 815 Broadway, Tribune, Kan. Those seeking additional information, including inspection dates and locations, may contact the auction company at 800.451.2709 or visit www.schraderauction.com.
